Mirc Guide
You want to use the Mirc now?
Tired of all the screaming ICQ Windows?
This the right way to do that
First of all I'll give you some hints to configure Mirc.
Enter your Nickname and an alternative,
cause somebody else m8 use your name.
(You have to be disconnected to enter your Nickname in the grey fields)
If there's no Quakenet in the server list,
you have to add the server like this, by clicking on the add button.
The next thing is, that you want to be noticed,
Mirc if somebody writes your name.
Mirc automatically highlights if your full name is written,
but maybe some peeps are using a short form of your name.
Enter it here, if you want to be noticed
If you want the Mirc to play a propper sound,
that you hear while playing UT or Quake,
go on the highlight field and choose your sound, for the specified action!
You can add many sounds to Mirc, but be careful,
if you use sounds for all the actions,
you m8 throw you Soundsystem out of the window,
because Mirc will not stop ringing at all.
You want the Mirc not all the time as minimized Window?
Maybe you want to get the Mirc as Tray-icon like the ICQ?
That is possible and very useful, if you use some Beep sounds.
Now we have finished the Mirc Layout part!
OOOHHH, You want to get an Autoop on our/your channel?
That is a bit if work.
Read this carefully!
It normally takes about one hour on a Mirc channel to explain how to get an autoop from Q!!!
First of all connect to the Quakenet.
You don't have to be on a channel to perform this.
Write: /msg q hello
Follow the instructions!!!!
Maybe q responds that somebody already is registered with this name!
choose another nick (only if Q says that somebody is registered with this name): /nick yournewnick
You don't have to use this new nick all the time, you can change your nick after the registering procedure,
But remember the nick you registered with!
In the text Q writes, it explains how to change your password and how to enter your emailadress!
give Q your real emailadress cause it can post your password to this adress if you ever loose it!
Q says something about the command /msg q auth yournickname yourpassword. This is wrong
If you use this Q answers: use new command and so on.
Of course you don`t want to type all the fucking passwords every time You join our channel!
You can tell the Mirc to automatically join our channel and auth with Q!
Open the Mirc and enter this with your nickname and password!
Its useful to connect on Mircstart to the server.
You can tell him also to reconnect, if you be disconnected
Maybe you want to rejoin a channel automatically, if you'd be kicked.
For our clanmembers:
If you made that all, write write an email to me containing the name U registered with!!!
If you`ve done all this you soon will get an autopop on our channel
And never forget: Don't give other peeps except of Clanmembers
an op on our channel!!!
If you give a OP to a strainger, he maybe kicks you and locks the channel!
